Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Dopey Challenge is a series of runs over 4 days in Walt Disney World in Florida. It consists of a 5k run on Thursday, 10k run on Friday, half marathon on Saturday and marathon on Sunday.  Yes, I am doing all four - hence it's called the Dopey Challenge!

Over 700,000 people in Scotland have arthritis.  I am one of those, having been recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis.  It usually develops gradually over time.  Several different joints can be affected, but osteoarthritis is most frequently seen in the hands, knees, hips, feet and spine.

Through this challenge, I hope to raise funds for Arthritis Care in Scotland.

Arthritis is more common in people over age 40, although it is, in certain cases found in the under 40's.  Arthritis is twice as common and often more severe in women.  There is no cure for arthritis.
