Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

Another year of fundraising and after the impact COVID had on all charities and our fundraising efforts it is more important than ever to keep this going. Ewan is now 3 years old and continues to need a lot of support to maintain his health. We started 2021 with a hospital admission and IV antibiotics. Currently we have are having to keep Ewan as healthy as possible to awaiting Kaftrio which can only be accessed when he is 12 years old but with further research we hope in the future that more live saving medication will be available at a younger age and also to those with CF who are not eligible for Kaftrio due to their gene types. It has been a really positive time for the CF Community over the past couple of years with Orkambi, Symkevi and Kaftrio but this is only the start and we will not stop fighting until there is access to medication for all with CF and a cure is found. Thank you in advance for your continued support to our cause. 2021 will hopefully see the restart of events such as Great North Swim and Great North Run along with sweepstakes, raffles, coffee mornings and lots of personal challenges. We also hope to finish the year with our Celebration Ball in October. Lets make it another good year for fundraising!
