Zachy, aged 5 was made the first Child Ambassador for Merlin's Magic Wand in September following his successful balance bike ride from Coventry to Warwick Castle.  His fundraising is continuing with new ideas and bigger challenges to face on his quest for all children to be able to make fun memories at Merlin attractions.

Next up -

This year Zachy is going even bigger! He is on a quest to ride his new pedal bike from Alton Towers to Warwick Castle, via Sea Life and Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham. Covering 100 miles over just 5 days! 

One 5 year old boy on a mission to raise a total of £25000 before he is 10 for Merlin’s Magic Wand.  Every single penny raised puts the biggest smile on Zachy’s face. Please donate even the smallest amount, it all counts!

Original Story -

Our son Zachy aged 4 has pledged to walk/ride his balance bike all the way from his Nana & Grandad’s house in Coventry to Warwick Castle. This comes to just over 11 miles in one day!! His aim is to get to the Castle in time to watch The Falconer’s Quest at 3.30pm.  All this in the name of making other children have wonderful experiences like he does.

Those who know Zachy know that Warwick Castle is his absolute favourite place to go. 

When talking one day about one of his friends and the fact that she is unable to visit places like he can due to illness he was suddenly really upset. He hated the idea that she would be missing out and so I told him about the charity Merlin’s Magic Wand that arranges days out to Merlin attractions for children.  Zachy was desperate to raise money for the charity so that other children can go to the places he loves to go, especially Warwick Castle.  After brief brainstorming it was clear that our suggestions were nowhere near challenging enough for him and so his idea to walk for charity was born!  He decided to walk from our home all the way to the Castle. However, that being over 16 miles and him being desperate to complete it all in one day and be there in time to watch The Falconer’s Quest bird show we have convinced him to start from his Grandparent’s house instead. 

*We may take the decision closer to the time to spread it over two days for his safety.
