I made it in 56 minutes 49 seconds and surprised myself by quite enjoying it - but no, I won't be planning a marathon next year!

I'm going to be taking part in the Two Castles Run on 12 June to raise money for the Maya Childcare Trust. It's a 10km run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle.

It all seemed like a good idea at the time.  I was visiting the Rotary Club of Kenilworth about this time last year, to tell them a bit more about the Maya Childcare Trust (of which I’m a trustee) and thank them for their support, and I casually expressed interest in the Two Castles Run, which the Rotary Club organises.  Well, they have good memories.  As soon as registration opened in the new year, I had an email reminding me that I had said I’d do it.

 

The thing is, last June I’d been running quite a bit and was happy enough to contemplate a 10k run.  This year, through a combination of extreme business and laziness, I’ve barely had my sneakers on.  So, it’s going to HURT.  And take rather longer than it really should.  Eeesh.

 

So please sponsor me so that I feel I’m achieving something other than an inability to walk downstairs come next Monday morning!
