This little man is Zaiden, and he has sensory processing disorder and autism. 

If you don’t already know, Autistic children and young people find having their hair cut extremely distressing because of sensory challenges associated with the condition.

I would just like to mention, that over the past 4 days, I have prepared my son gradually for this, by showing Zaiden the clippers one day, to getting him to feel comfortable listening to the sound of the clippers to reassure him. Watching YouTube videos of other people doing the #CovidCutsChallenge, and by using his IPad for distraction, We’ve also used social story to make it more 'friendly' for our child to understand the Coronavirus. 

Today this little man is going to be brave and have his hair shaved off! Why...because We wanted to show our amazing #NHSheroes That whilst they’re being so brave right now that they empower others around them to be brave too!
