Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
We will be climbing the highest peak in the UK to raise money for the people of Syria who have been suffering from the ongoing conflict. Our aim is to raise awareness and money for Human Relief Foundation who are on the ground in countries like Lebanon and Jordan, giving out essential aid to these refugees in the form of food packs, fuel, medical equipment and shelter.
As Muslims we are always taught the importance of brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam. We are taught that the Muslim ummah is like a body, and if one part of the body is aching then the whole body feels the pain. So that is why it is so important to support our family around the world that desperately need our help.
The conflict in Syria has been going on for more than 9 years. Millions of Syrians have had to flee their homes due to the lack of safety for them and their families. Many Syrians have sought refuge in Lebanon and Jordan which are bordering countries. Many of these refugees have been living in tents in these countries for more than 5 years. Life does not get much better for them as they now struggle with lack of food, water, clothes and money. There are no jobs for these people and therefore no income. Many of these refugees rely solely on aid. Human Relief Foundation works with these refugee camps distributing food packs, fuel, medical kits and other essential aid all year round.
Human Relief Foundation works closely with Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan, distributing food packs during Ramadhan and throughout the rest of the year. A single foodpack costing only £60 can feed a whole family for one month.
Food pack (feeds a family of 5 for one month) = £60
Fuel (lasts one month+) = £30
Medical support = £50
2 winter blankets = £30

Be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity. Whatever good you send forth for your souls before you, you shall find it with Allah. For Allah sees well all that you do" (2:110).
