Story

“Any idiot can run, but it takes a special kind of idiot to run a marathon.”

When someone you know is diagnosed with cancer, it's tough to know what to say or do. I recently found this out late last year when two very young brothers within my circle of family and another close relative, recently lost his life to cancer; I felt like there was little I could do to offer support.

What can I do?

I hope to raise £2000 for Cancer Research UK, so I can do something positive to support my brothers, Farhan from Newcastle and Faisal from London, and in memory of my late relative Alom from Portsmouth. All who are/have had a difficult time dealing with cancer.

What will I do?

I've always been a runner but never had the confidence to run a marathon. I'm taking part in the Manchester Marathon this April. To make the challenge more challenging, I'll be running the marathon during Ramadan.

Events like the Manchester Marathon are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work in preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now, you can help more people survive cancer.

My training has begun, and any support, whether a donation or a message of encouragement, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and see you at the finish line

Zak
