African Revival - Zambia Bike Challenge 2011 · 20 May 2011 ·

Our vision is an Africa where every child has equal access to quality education, as we believe education is the key to overcoming poverty. We provide infrastructure and empower whole communities to transform schools into thriving learning environments that build brighter, better futures.

Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my JustGiving page.

In May I will be taking on a considerable challenge, cycling 500km in just 6 days over some of the most remote and difficult terrain in Zambia, to raise money for African Revival.

African Revival is a small charity that works closely with local communities in Zambia and Uganda to give children access to education, opportunity and choice.

Having shared a flat with their chief fundraiser for the last year, I have found out all about the amazing work they are doing with their Focal Schools Programme and other projects. I have also seen just how much they rely on donations from people like you and me in order to be able to continue making a difference to the lives of so many African children.

I will be covering the costs of the trip myself so all the money you donate will go directly to the charity to help build and resource schools and train up local teachers in rural communities in the Kalomo district of Zambia.

Please give generously for this worthwhile cause and help me smash my fundraising target - this will keep up my enthusiasm and focus on training over the next few months!
