We’re doing it again… A half Marathon in the beautiful yet heartbreaking streets of Bethlehem, Palestine.

After completing our last run, there was no doubt that we had to go back and do it again. Only this time, having shared our experience, inspired more family members to embark on this journey with us. Back in April we decided to confirm and book our places for March 2O2O.

In the beginning of October, 2O19, we suddenly lost our beloved Uncle Abid. There aren’t enough words to describe how beautiful, kind, caring, loving and charitable he was. He’s left behind his beautiful family whom he loved more than anything in this world. His departure from this world has left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Having heard all about the trip from his wife, our Aunty Sameena, and 4 of his nieces who went last year, he was so excited to join us this year, to raise money for such a wonderful cause.

It was only 8 months ago, we signed up for the March 2O19 run, for a cause close to our hearts and on behalf of our beloved Grandma. We never thought that on our return, we’d be doing it on behalf of her baby boy. It has taken a lot as a family to carry on with this after such a difficult year, however, it is something we are/were all so passionate about, especially after seeing first hand, where the money we raised was spent. 

If you know us then you will be fully aware that we are all unhealthy and inactive. The route will start from the iconic Church of the Nativity and will take us through the varied landscape of Palestinian life. We will pace down the old city of Bethlehem running (in our case maybe walking gasping for air) through the refugee camps following the infamous grey wall now em-blazed with graffiti from artist around the world.

Please donate generously and help us reach our target In Shaa Allah. The money raised will be supporting the Paediatrics Open Heart Surgery department with provision of Paediatric Patient’s Ventilator which is used for mechanical respiration and oxygen supply. This is a critical piece of equipment which will be saving the lives of hundreds of children in the coming years.
