Story
Friends and colleagues,
We have decided to join our close friends at Liberty Global in support of a great charity, the Lessons for Life Foundation (formerly the Chello Foundation). Team JPMorgan 2.0, has been assembled to cycle 280 kilometers from London to Amsterdam this May for the second year in a row. Although the ultimate goal is to raise money and awareness for the Lessons for Life Foundation, our secondary goal is to win the race. As the great Ricky Bobby said, "if you ain't first, you're last." We appreciate your continued support.. well almost as much as the support provided by our lycra cycle shorts (no photographs will be permitted). We scoured the office for JPMorgan’s top athletes. With 200k+ employees globally, we had our selection of former Olympians, collegiate athletes, video game enthusiasts and not one, but multiple ping pong coaches. When it was all said and done, the following warriors accepted the gauntlet:
- John Gilbert, Captain
- Chris Munro, First Mate
- David Lomer, Waterboy
- Zev Garell, Stow Away
- Bregje De Best, simply the best
- Lenny Carey, Deep Bench and even deeper pockets
Lessons for Life Foundation specifically focuses on advancing the education of orphans affected by HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. It provides educational scholarships to allow deserving children to access primary, secondary and polytechnic or college education. The funding provided by the Lessons for Life Foundation prioritises school fees. As of 2013, it supported the education of 5,500 children.
