Relief4Rohingya
Campaign by Iqra International (RCN 1075203)
iQra International require urgent funds to continue supporting the stateless and displaced Rohingya people currently residing in Bangladesh, having fled violence in Mayanmar.

Story

The last time I ran for charity was in 2011. However, the heartbreaking plight of our Rohingya brothers and sisters has made it an easy decision to get my trainers out of storage and run to raise funds for iQra International's 'Relief4Rohingya' appeal.

The Rohingya are often described as "the world's most persecuted minority" with "acts of genocide" having been committed against them (United Nations).   According to international aid agencies thousands of children and women at the camps, have been separated from their families. According to UNICEF, amid the disorder of the rapidly expanding settlements in Bangladesh, the unaccompanied and abandoned children and women are at particular risk of human trafficking, sexual abuse, child labor and child marriage.

What iQra have already done with your support: So far, iQra have built a medical camp, education centre, set-up temporary shelters, 20 toilets, 6 deep tubewells and provided emergency food packs to residents in the refugee camp known as Shahjalal Rohingya Polli.

What we want to do now:

As well as continuing to provide aid, education and medical support, we would like to also provide counselling support to help the Rohingya people overcome emotional and psychological issues caused by witnessing family members being raped, burnt, killed and drowned in front of their own eyes. PLEASE support this campaign to bring relief to our needy Rohingya brothers and sisters. Thank you.
