As 3 of my grandparents originally arrived to the UK as asylum seekers, I feel deeply connected to the work of Birmingham's Refugee and Migrant Centre. It is imperative that support is given to refugees and migrants, and they are treated as equal citizens. 

 Refugee and Migrant Centre mission = To assist refugees and migrants through crisis and disadvantage, by removing barriers to their integration and enabling them to become equal citizens.

Here's a bit more about the charity, 

'Our service provides casework, advice and guidance on immigration, housing/homelessness/destitution, welfare, education and health. Alongside this, we also provide English classes, dedicated support with citizenship and employment and run two resettlement schemes for vulnerable Syrian refugees.

The charity has supported tens of thousands of individuals and families since its creation and 2019 it supported 13,981 different individuals, provided 69,307 actions to support people and clients made 53,909 visits. The beneficiaries came from 148 different nationalities and accessed RMC’s services through the over 40 languages offered onsite by 91 staff and over 120 volunteers.'
