Story
For anyone that knows me, my relationship with running has gone from spending the first 28 years of my life absolutely hating it, to finally getting into it so much that I got a stress fracture in my pelvis from it a couple of years ago 😩 Thankfully that’s fully recovered now and hopefully my bones are stronger and my trainers are better so I can finally give myself a big challenge to aim towards…
So, I’ve decided to run the Bath Half Marathon in 2022 for Alzheimer’s Society. I’ve been looking for something to keep me motivated, particularly through the cold, dark, wet winter nights and had been putting off booking in a race until I got some bad news about my grandparents and how Alzheimer’s has affected and upended their lives. I’ve decided to run for the Alzheimer’s Society to raise money to help those suffering from the disease and their families so that they can be supported through the difficulties that come with it.
About the charity:
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
