Bupa Great Manchester Run 2011 · 15 May 2011 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I will be running the Great Manchester Run on the 15th may 2011 with my lovely friend Jayne from work!!

I will be raising money for the alzhiemers Charity and in memory of My wonderful Grandad!!

Grandad was diagnosed with alzhiemers in 2001 age 57 and sadly passed away in Jan 2009 age 64. Without the help of the Alzhiemers Association we (the whole family including grandad) would not have known what lay ahead and how to care and prepare for the cruel, harsh reality of what dementia really entails!!

They are there not only for the patient but the family and careers also providing a wonderful, caring and supportive service. It means alot for me to do this race to say thankyou to the alzhiemers association and also to help raise awarness of dementia and its affects!
