Story

I've decided to complete the 100km March Dog Walking Challenge to help fundraise for Dementia UK in loving memory of my granny, Molly.

I would be extremely appreciative of any and all donations, no matter how small. For those unable to donate, it would be amazing if you could share this post to help it reach far and wide.

Dementia is a disease very close to home as I sadly lost my granny to it just 2 months ago. Her death was heart-breaking, but for us it was like losing her all over again. The disease had already robbed her of her memories and us of our mother, sister, grandmother, wife, and friend. It is a cruel, complicated, and incurable condition. Loving someone with dementia is not easy, and my aunt in particular selflessly dedicated the last decade to caring for my granny.

Dementia UK provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers. They help people stay independent for longer, and support those caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.

Lily (my poodle) is my rock and helps me through all my hard times. It seems very apt to complete this fundraiser alongside my best friend.

Remember, any donation no matter how small would be extremely appreciated, and sharing this post will hopefully help go a long way.

This one is for you granny Molly, I hope I make you proud x
