At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

So...It's really happening if you make a JustGiving page. I'm running 13.1 miles around Cambridge - with no music.

Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. I have been personally affected by it, and I want to do something to raise money and awareness for a worthy cause.

My Gran suffers from Alzheimer's. Her illness has not only affected her, but also her friends and family. Alzheimer's Society offered my grandparents support and advice, particularly when they were looking for the right care home to send my Gran, where not only would she be looked after in a way she would like, but also she would be close enough for my Grandpa to visit as often as possible.

I decided to run the Cambridge Half Marathon for a bit of a challenge...I am definitely not a long distance runner, so this will be quite the task! Training is somewhat sporadic what with me being in the midst of my NQT year, however I'm intent on finishing within 3 hours...that's realistic, right?! I'd love to raise at least £100 in my first fundraising venture. Please help me out, even if it's just £1!

Thanks for reading folks. I will also take donations in the form of leg massages. Don't touch my feet though, I am extremely ticklish, and I really hate feet.
