Story
During 2021 I rediscovered my love of running and it’s become an integral part of maintaining my physical and mental health.
I want to use the last day of 2021 to raise enough money to provide shelter and education for a year for a child rescued from sex trafficking in India. As a parent it is apparent no more so than at Christmas just how loved and privileged our children are. This only highlights the imbalance of opportunity for many children in the world.
After a challenging year for many, it is easy to become self absorbed with our sadnesses and difficult circumstances. However nothing we go through in the developed world will ever come close to the atrocities that women and girls face on a daily basis in less fortunate parts of the world.
I invite you to donate with an open heart and if local, come down to 3F gym in Bournemouth between 06.00-18.00 hours on New Year’s Eve to keep me company and hop on the 2nd treadmill reserved for this event! Non runners are very welcome-if you can walk you can tread!
As many of you will know, this won’t be the longest I’ve run for but I hope it to be the fastest! I have no idea how my body will respond to so long on the tread but the aim is x2 marathons in 12 hours- that’s going to take stubbornness, some good tunes and lots of pizza!
