I am a mother of two young children and whilst we have never been admitted to Alder Hey my eldest has had six stays in our local hospital due to problems with her breathing, which started when she was a year old.

My husband and I will be eternally grateful for care our daughter has received and the support we have been given throughout.

Many of our friends and family have a connection with Alder Hey and the amazing work they do for children across the North West.

Anyone that knows me well will know that I don’t like walking up mountains, hate being cold and I’m not very good on little sleep.

Despite this… I have taken on the challenge and have started walking up hills on freezing January mornings!
