The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Here's the boring bit:

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Here's the interesting bit:

I've generally spent the last 34 years loafing about on me arse. I hate exercise. I'm not right keen on running (it's the having to run back when you've run there to begin with). So this is going to be a real challenge for me, and I need as much lolly as possible to incentivise me to get round what is effectively a full marathon with a little holiday in the middle (I'm running the great North run AND the great South run too!).

It's not money for me you understand (darn it), but for all the cute puppies who need training to enable blind/ partially sighted folk to lead a full and active life. Trust me, if you've never had a dog, they are little beggars to train. Or maybe that's why they use labradors instead of airedales...

So please sponsor me now. Otherwise I'll only badger you for months and months and months.

Thanks!
