Story
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page!
My beautiful Mum sadly passed away from Cancer in August 2019, so my friends and I are running the Reading Half Marathon in November 2021 in her memory.
We will be raising money for the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, as this was where my Mum and Grandad received the very best end of life care.
My Mum described the nurses at the Hospice as Angels for all their help and support. Despite coming to the end of her life, my Mum was happy and content to be in such a lovely facility, spending most of her days in the garden that was well kept by volunteers.
Many of you will know, my Mum loved to party and her lovely colleagues and staff at the Hospice organised a party in the family room for her, one last time!
The staff didn’t only support my Mum, but her family too. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we will be forever grateful for their kindness.
The Duchess of Kent Hospice costs roughly £15,000 a day to run and relies on donations to make this happen. Please donate what you can to this incredible charity.
