Zoya Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro - Oct 2019 · 9 October 2019

For several years SHOCC has been raising funds for new classrooms at St Jude's Primary school at Mto Wa Mbu in Tanzania. We urgently need a further £10,000 for the January 2022 intake and so far have raised £6,500. Please help us reach our target.

Story

Dear Family, Friends and Peers,

My name is Zoya and if you know anything about me - it's that I love travelling, the outdoors and going on adventures. My upcoming Kilimanjaro trip consists of all of that but my soul craves to do more

By more, I mean give back. Whenever I travel to a third world country, I try to take some time to help out local organizations by funding or donating to their cause.

For Tanzania, I thought I would go the extra mile and try to fund raise for a cause that directly benefits local individuals. That's how I found out about this fundraising project by SHOCC. They are creating classrooms for children and require funding for it. They are due to accept new pupils from January 2020 so it's important that they meet their target goal of £10000 and finish the construction work.

I can't fund it all but I thought I could reach out to you all to help me help them. My target goal is £500 of which I've already went ahead and put £150 of my own. That's just £350 to go! Think about it,  just 20 £/$ from your pocket will help a kid get a wall where he/she can learn and grow.

I loved going to school (nerd alert) so what better way to fill my soul with warmth and all things good feeling than help other kids go to school.

Hope you find it in your heart to help but I understand if you can not. I also accept good wishes/luck for my upcoming trek! :D

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Best Regards,

Zoya
