In the midst of Covid lockdown I gave birth to my first born son, and just a day after being discharged from hospital we rushed him to hospital due to respiratory issues. I was told that Taylan had 4 holes in his heart and was referred to the Evelina Children’s Hospital. After a few months of very close observations our consultant informed us that Taylan would need open heart surgery at just 4 months old.

Not only did they give my son the  amazing care he required, they also supported me through his observations, surgery and after care.

I cannot thank the cardiology team at the Evelina Centre enough, and hope I can give something back by taking part in the Winter Walk 2024 to raise funds so they can continue to do the amazing work they do, and help other children and families through very difficult times in their lives.
