Zwift Sunrise 400km for Astrid · 25 July 2020
For those of you that know me, this year I had set some pretty ambitious cycling goals including Maratona (July) and Ride Across Britain (September) -- both of which have been cancelled. As such, I jumped (stupidly?) at the chance to cycle with a great group I've met on the Zwift community to cycle 400km (250 miles) in one hit indoors. That's a long way, but I am feel comfortable that with the support of the team, and others dipping in and out that it can be done.
The raised funds will go to Astriid, an amazing charity set out to help those with long-term conditions find meaningful work. Founded by David Shutts OBE following his cancer diagnosis, he believed that the value of work is far more than the wages paid. I rode London to Paris last year for Astriid's first charity event and personally got to know Steve Shutts, Dave's brother. Dave has sadly since passed away and Steve has taken the reins to build the charity in his owner. It's a young charity with a big vision -- any support we can offer will make all the difference.
