Story
I write this on the 16th June 2018. This is my 198th day of running between 5-30km everyday. This is the half way point of my challenge and I have covered over 1300km
Last year I joined a group of crazy people who thought it would be good idea to run 5km a day during December in aid of Marcothon
Tougher than I thought but I found inspiration from a good friend of mine, Gary Morton, who had completed 31 marathons in 31 days!! Whilst in the midst of running 10km a day for a year.
Well..... that got me thinking, and I set myself a challenge of running everyday for 396 days with the distance being a minimum of 5km and maximum of 30km
On the 9th September I will be running the Great North Run for Rossendale Hospice. A charity that supported my mother in law, Muriel Webb through her Breast Cancer treatment. The care and support she received was all the more important as we lost an amazing man, David Webb, Muriel’s husband, just weeks after her diagnosis. The Great North Run has a special meaning as Muriel was born in the North East.
I need to say a massive thank you to the following people
All the guys at “get fit 2018” - Wendy, Gemma, Jamie, Dan, Michelle, Sandy, Phil, Steph & Shelley for all the texts and messages you guys send. These do help me keep going and also mean so much
All the guys at P J Livesey for constantly keep asking “are you still runnning?” and the answer is always “Yes I am!”
My mum, dad and Muriel for all thinking that I am absolutely crazy for doing this, but that just drives me on even more.
The biggest thank you of all goes to the three most important people in my life. Without them this would not be possible. Laura for being my biggest supporter and always being there for me (and also running about 50% of the runs as well)
Ellie-Grace and Isaac. As thier Dad I am always telling them to work hard, try your best, never give up and most importantly believe in yourself. If you believe in yourself you can achieve anything. I love you all so much x
Now kids it’s your turn to tell me, so let’s do this and achieve something a little special and also raise a lot of money for an amazing Charity
If you want to do one of the runs with me you can message me on Facebook or Strava. I will post updates over the coming months
Thank you so so much and roll on 2019
