The Alternative Gargunnock Christmas Card!

The Alternative Gargunnock Christmas Card · 18 October 2012
Many Gargunnock residents have chosen, for some years now, to donate collectively to a worthwhile cause rather than buy Christmas Cards for their fellow villagers. Since December 2004 we've raised over £7000, with most of that going to CHAS. This year the money we raise will, for the second time, be donated to The Scottish Cot Death Trust. This small - but extremely worthwhile - organisation is based in Yorkhill Royal Hospital for Sick Children and appreciates every little bit of help it can get. You can find out more about Cot Death and The Trust by clicking on the logo opposite.
This year, we're moving with the times and have set up this page for online donations, but please be assured that the amount of money you donate will remain hidden and personal. Please also be assured that The Trust will probably receive more than we donate! The Just Giving fee comes off through Gift Aid and the charity still receives a bonus from the tax man on your donation if you are a UK tax payer. Having said that, PLEASE don’t be put off if you’d prefer to stick an envelope through my door! Everyone in the village is invited to join in with our ‘Alternative Christmas Card’, be it online or not! Whichever way you decide to donate, please make sure you leave a note of your family’s names for inclusion in the traditional Village Card, which will be posted on the noticeboard on Christmas Eve and in the first edition of The Bugle in 2013.
If you’d prefer not to donate online, please put your donation - cash or cheques made out to ‘The Scottish Cot Death Trust’ - along with a note of all your family members’ names in an envelope, and pop it through my letterbox at JUNIPER RIDGE, LECKIE ROAD (opposite the Community Centre garden/building site!)
I hope you all have a lovely festive season when it comes.
Many Thanks!
Jane
(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.)
