Story
The winner of the raffle will be drawn at 4pm Friday December 23. Last raffle tickets online need to be bought by 2pm to allow us time to sort out the tickets for the draw.
Every year we have a stall at the Christmas market on Parliament Street in York. We're always amazed by the urban roost of pied wagtails there, hundreds of them gather together in three or four trees at the same time every evening. With the Christmas lights shining up through the branches as well it's an incredible sight. Last year being directly underneath the roost inspired me to sculpt a pair of wagtails in bronze.
Conservation work by the RSPB in the UK and around the world is tremendously important. Their work is about a lot more than the bird life. Huge areas of vulnerable habitats are under threat having a devastating effect on much native flora and fauna.
This is why I'm donating a pair of my new bronze pied wagtail sculptures as a prize to be drawn just before Christmas to raise funds for the work they do. We are surrounded by amazing natural beauty, we need to appreciate it and look after it.
