Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

There are three things that everyone is aware about when they know Gemma...

1. She loves her children, Lillie and Joshua

2. She loves wine

3. She will do everything possible to avoid running

So to see her sign up for a Half Marathon is not only a major achievement in itself, it also demonstrates exactly what Gemma is all about. She is determined, she is stubborn and she has an unbelievable will to succeed.

She was told to never work as a hairdresser, and what does she do now? She was told that she would struggle to have children, and which two amazing children does she have now? She was told that her life expectancy would be under 30, and how old is she now (don't answer that!). Every challenge that she has been given, whether in life or business, she has always overcome it.

I would imagine she would be advised to not run 13.1 miles in Birmingham in October, but that's the challenge she has set herself and i have no doubt that it is a challenge she will absolutely smash.

It wont be easy, not many people without CF would look at running a half marathon - but I am positive that the more money she is able to raise, the more motivation she will have to get to the finish line and have a party afterwards!!

So please dig deep and help support the CF Trust and Gemma. She is an inspiration to us all and even a £2.00 donation would make the world of difference.

Thank you!
