Brain Tumour UK has merged with The Brain Tumour Charity to become the UK's largest dedicated brain tumour charity. We fund research and offer support and information to those affected whilst raising awareness and influencing policy.

Story

£1584.07 has been raised in the name of Geoff Ashby between our family members by donations direct and collections via our local stores.

We Have now completed the London to Brighton twice in 2013 for the British heart Foundation and Do It For Charity events. Again we have signed up for the L2B with 11friends and (no doubt thousands again) other people all wanting to raise money to support various charities due to being touched by others suffering with illness. Good luck to us all!

Sad times !

Sadly Geoff lost his fight today against the brain tumour he has been battling with since December.

He will not be forgotten and is always in our hearts and minds.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page on behalf of Geoff Ashby.

Our Dad (Grandad and Uncle) was taken ill on the evening of 3/12/11, and for months we were told that we were dealing with the recovery following a stroke. It was only really in june and july of this year where the struggle to understand the downturn in his health led to his collapse and a MRI scan 30/7/12 that revealed that he had a Malignant Glioma that had gone undetected for some 8 months.

Refered to the London University Hospital for Neurology for a biopsy it was discovered to be beyond any treatments and he currently resides in a care home in Stevenage for his remaining time.

Steve, Katie, Ben and Graham Ashby, plan to take on a challange to cycle (with no formal training) from Cardiff to Norwich (280Miles) over a long weekend in 2013, in order to raise money for this worthwhile charity. currently the only cycling that we do is just to ride round local woods on the occasional day in a month, so this will be a battle for us all.
