Story
On the 17th July, following a heroic battle, Geoff decided that enough was enough. And so we find ourselves mourning the loss of a devoted husband, doting dad and grandad, dear brother, caring uncle and loyal friend. In short, a truly wonderful man.
Throughout his life, Geoff put others before himself. His broad mix of skills coupled with his impossibly well stocked garage, meant that he was always in demand - and he loved to help.
His love of gadgets and all things tech, lead to a steady stream of parcels from Amazon. From his fully kitted out office, he produced dvds for family and friends marking special occasions. He got so much joy from creating them.
Geoff was always calm...well unless he was watching Arsenal or driving behind an idiot! Arsenal provided the perfect outlet for any pent up anger and Geoff went to many home games in recent years. They provided enjoyment and frustration in equal measure!
Geoff's other love was cars and driving them...fast! His pet hate (aside from the dustmen and the postman) was drivers that weren't focussed on driving. He would voice these concerns at said idiot loudly and usually with matching gesticulations!
But nothing was more important to Geoff than his family. To us he was the best, one in a million.
As if to illustrate this point, Geoff managed to develop a very rare cancer. Adrenocortical Cancer affects one to two people per million per year. As such, research into this cancer is not only hampered by a very small study sample but also overlooked in terms of funding. We have chosen to support the Cancer Treatment and Research Trust at Charing Cross Hospital in Geoff's memory. Professor Seckl and his team did their very best to make Geoff well, but sadly it wasn't to be. By funding further research into rarer cancers we can make a difference to the impact this devastating disease has on other families.
