Hi There! Thanks for visiting my page!
As part of the Raleigh International team within ICS, I've been chosen to depart on an adventure with a mission; a mission to help the environment and society of Nepal. This mission will be difficult, pushing my body and mind to the extreme in order to change the lives of those I'll be affecting, both human and wilderness-based!
My trip is a mission of Aid, one of sanitation as well as the ecosystem construction. I will be working as part of a W.A.S.H Project (Water and Sanitation Health), that will be placing me within villages and schools of rural Tanzania, but also the deep jungle to create and work on already-existing systems to ensure rural villages and tribes are no longer haunted by the fear of sanitation-based and waterborne diseases, leading to a shorter life span.
The trip will last 3 months, from the 25th June until 7th September 2019, with ICS (international Citizen Service) and will include activities such as manual labour (constructing foundations for new buildings, water and filtration systems) teaching and working alongside villagers in their daily lives (continuing previous plans and sites that have not been completed by past teams as well as creating our own for the ease of life for rural village life) as well as a jungle expedition (working on reforestation, raising awareness of deforestation and the impacts it has on rare wildlife, as well as planning and building life-long sanctuary constructions to ensure the safety of the local animals as well as encourage a safe place to breed and keep low species at risk, off of the endangerment list!
The target to raise is £800 ! the money used will go directly into a deposit in order to buy new equipment and materials for the construction plans within the local villages and the Tanzanian jungle, but also to more human-based issues, such as female sanitation products, and helping start small lively hoods.
Alongside this page, I will be partaking in fundraising events, such as swimming the distance from the coast of Dar Es Salaam, TZ, to Zanzibar, TZ, a whopping 73100 meters! the entire project to swim this distance will start now, and will be continually followed by vlogs to explain my 6:00 am trips to the pool, my body effects, and my excitement for the trip! I'm doing this with the wonderful help of Raleigh International and ICS, who have gracefully offered me this opportunity, even as little as you can give can help me change lives, (both mine and those I will meet), Please give what you can!
Love from the Raleigh ICS team and I:)
