Hi everyone and thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2013, off to hospital I went where I had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer, 2 years on and I’m back to fight for a good cause again.
Last year (2014) with the help from my two children Macie & Kori and my two nieces we helped raise money for Cancer Research and this year we are back to do it again but this time we welcome back one of my other nieces Melissa who returns after a 12 month tour of Australia to join our Race for Life team again.
Its now 15 months since I finished my treatment and in the middle of June I’ll be off to hospital again for my yearly scan which fingers crossed will be clear. Cancer Research plays a vital role in the prevention of all cancers and without help from the general public, people like me may not be here today. Everyone thinks that cancer will never touch them, and I hope that it never does, but at some point in your life you will always know someone it has affected.
For over 7 years I have donated every month to Cancer Research and even before I was diagnose with breast cancer I competed in Race for Life to help raise as much money and awareness as possible. This year I have the help of my niece Melissa who will join me, my daughter Macie and my son Kori around Pontefract Racecourse along with thousands of other ladies to raise as much money as we can for the charity.
It doesn’t matter how much you can donate, small or large, every penny will go towards further research that will help thousands of people like me.
I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone for taking the time to read our page.
