Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
In 2005 I ran the London Marathon raising money for Ataxia UK. I chose this charity because my brother-in-law, Ian, suffers from ataxia and I have seen how this disease has affected Ian and his family. In 2005/6 I was given the chance to work for Ataxia UK as their PR Manager. During this period I worked with some wonderful people and had first hand experience of the wonderful support Ataxia UK provides and how it helps the lives of so many.
Ataxia is not a very well know disease but it is a cruel one and strikes families without warning. The aim of Ataxia UK, which was started nearly 40 years ago, is to stop ataxia symptons starting or progressing through the support of world class research to understand the causes.
By running the Edinburgh marathon I aim to raise not only funds to go towards this research but also the awareness of the disease to provide the essential support to families like my sisters.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ataxia UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! Dawn x
