GINA & MICHELLE TAKE UP THE EK ICE SHOW CHALLENGE FOR RADIO CLYDE'S CASH FOR KIDS
Sunday 16th November 2008 @ East Kilbride Shopping Centre
Clyde 1 DJ, Gina McKie and EK's Deputy Centre Director, Michelle McCabe are taking on the challenge of a lifetime as they prepare to take to the ice with some of the world's leading skaters in EK's Christmas Ice Shows.
The women have taken on the challenge to raise money for Cash for Kids and the race is now on to get the pair to the standard required to participate in EK's spectacular ice shows on Sunday 16th November. Over the coming weeks Michelle & Gina will be perfecting their 'three turns and mohawks' before they join such skating luminaries as five times Polish champion, Anna Rechnio and Russian champion, Natalia Pestova on the big day.
'It's been years since I strapped on a pair of skates and it certainly showed when I took to the ice for the first time' says Gina. 'This is a huge challenge but I am determined to do it and raise as much money as possible for Cash for Kids'
Michelle says ' These guys are the best in the business and I must admit it is nerve wracking, but also really exciting, to think that we will be opening the show in November'.
Cash for Kids raises money to help children facing financial, emotional and physical challenges get the Christmas they deserve - something most of us take for granted.
