Headway - the brain injury association- The Richmond Park Challenge · 15 May 2009 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Hi.

If you've made this far then you either know me and intend to donate or are  thinking, 'who is he and why has he bothered me with this?'.  Either way, thanks for taking time to look at the site.

On Friday 8th May 2009 I will start cycling from Edinburgh and, stopping only to refuel, sleep and nurse , shall we say to save any unfortuate image, saddle related injury, will finish in London the following Friday, 15th May, some 500 or so miles later.

Why am I doing it? I have come to understand through my work that Headway UK and all of its local branches and groups work tirelessly to support to those affected by brain injury and raise awareness about a group of people who are otherwise not on the general public's radar. Yes I will get a sore a**e and will (violins please) miss my family terribly. This really is small change though in comparison to the way brain injury can affect  people's lives.

So do give generously, we appreciate it.
