Hello ,

As some of you will know, I've lost my granddad a couple of years ago, but even during his illness his characteristic optimism and passion for life remained unshaken.

Granddad spent his life helping those that needed most and this is an example I intend to follow. Helen & Douglas House is an Oxford based charity that provides end of life care to children, but like my granddad, the emphasis is on living life to full, even when that life may be short.

The challenge:

 Me, my husband, my step dad and my brother-in-law will be cycling 500km from London to Paris in September 2009, in order to raise £5K for Helen & Douglas House children.

Yes you heard it right : I will be exchanging my high heels for some padded cycling shorts and will be cycling 500 Km in 4 days!!!

This is a very worthy cause; so let's do this one for the kids !
