Hettie Maylam is raising money for Anthony Nolan
Story
So it all started with an idea...and an application...and then there was that phone call...! And then before I knew it I´d paid my £50 and had signed up to the one and only LONDON MARATHON which takes place on April 24th 2016.
It just all seems so casual...and anyway it´s only 26.2 miles. And it´s only 6 months of training - early morning runs, healthy eating and maybe even giving up alcohol! How hard can it be?! (Very according to all my friends who have already run marathons!)
But why I hear you ask? Well the thing is my dad has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life. It's an extremely hard thing to go through and he will be in hospital for a rather long time and quite frankly when you put it into perspective running a marathon is pretty easy compared to that.
I´ll be raising money for Anthony Nolan because the work they do in getting people onto the bone marrow register, raising awareness and supporting families like us is second to none.
What´s more, each person they sign up costs Anthony Nolan £100. So every pound donated will make a difference to this cause.
