Cardiff Memory Walk 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My mum has Alzheimer’s Dementia, diagnosed at just aged 58. My Nan had Alzheimer’s Dementia – and my granddad who nursed her, now himself has Alzheimer’s.

2012 sees my fourth year of Memory Walks and cycles across South Wales. Raising much needed funds for Alzheimer’s research.

On Sunday 16 September I will be doing my 12 Memory Walk, 12K around the beautiful grounds of Bute Park and Cardiff Castle.

Previous walks include:

Cardiff & the Vale 2008

Merthyr Tydfil 2009

Caerphilly 2009

Blaenau Gwent 2009

Newport 2010

Rhonnda Cynon Taff 2010

Cardiff & the Vale 2010

Swansea 2010

Blaenau Gwent 2010

Cardiff Bute Park 2011

Previous cycles include:

Merthyr – Cardiff 2010

Brecon – Cardiff 2010

And last year saw a slight change by being part of the support team, for my sister and her friend on their 26 mile trek from Stonehenge to Avebury.

All the money raised will be going to support the Alzheimer’s Society here in Wales, with special consideration going to younger people with dementia.

So please dig very deep into your pockets for what is a very worthwhile cause.
