Story
It's three years since I ran my first marathon in Edinburgh which has proved just enough time to forget how challenging the distance is (although recent training runs are bringing the memories flooding back). In Edinburgh I ran 4hrs 15mins on one of the hottest May days the city has ever seen (28oC), so the plan is to pay closer attention to the weather forecast this time and break the 4hr barrier (no sunscreen or hat proved painful in Edinburgh).
This time the marathon takes place in York on 20th October and I'm running to raise funds towards a SPARK (securing potential and releasing knowledge) scholarship for a future York St. John University sports student. SPARK relies on fundraising by current students, staff, and governers as well as alumni from York St. John University. The scholarship will support a talented sports student through university to help them achieve their academic as well as sporting potential.
I'd be really grateful if you could sponsor me to run the Yorkshire marathon and help raise money for the SPARK scholarship.
