Story

So, it starts like this.  I felt fat and old and really needed a kick to get me up and active again. I saw an advert for Assert Fitness Camp - three mornings a week 6-7am. It's a 'no excuse' time of day so I went along to see what it was like.

I really enjoyed it. I usually do once I get going and get passed the "just leave me here to die" phase.

It was there I was told about The Newcastle Stampede.  Now there's a challenge. Being ex Navy I've done a few assault courses, and cursed my way through every single one of them but nothing compares to the sense of achievement you get when you complete them, battered, bruised and exhausted.

Could I do it today? No.  I know I have some full on training to do in the next 56 days to get to a reasonable fitness level. Dean and the others at Fitness Camp will be there to push and support me and knowing people will benefit from my doing this will drive me through to the end.

I see this as the second step to achieving my goal. The first was starting Fitness Camp. This will test my determination.  I know I can do it. I will do it. I will do it for those who are unable to because of heart and health problems.

If you wish to donate that would be fantastic, but I also need your support to keep me going when I'm thinking up excuses to not train or whining about my aches and pains.

An occasional "How's it going" or "You're doing great" will perk me up no end.

Thank You :-)
