Story

Welcome to Team Puppy Ride's 2023 fundraising page! During the week of August 19th, we plan to undertake another endurance challenge, this time biking 560 miles from Niagara Falls, Canada to Long Island, New York. Our plan, like every year, is to dedicate our trip to The Seeing Eye, Inc., the oldest guide dog foundation in the United States! Our ride each year raises awareness and funds for The Seeing Eye. We do this in memory of John Freiss, the brother of our team leader, Jim Freiss. John was a recipient of an awesome dog from The Seeing Eye, like so many before and after him! The Seeing Eye works only through philanthropy. We encourage our friends, our families, corporate affiliates and acquaintances to consider visiting our team members' individual fundraising pages and to give your financial support to this wonderful cause.

About the charity

The Seeing Eye's mission is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind, through the use of specially trained Seeing Eye® dogs. In pursuit of this mission, The Seeing Eye breeds and raises puppies to become Seeing Eye dogs, trains Seeing Eye dogs to guide blind people, instructs blind people in the proper use, handling, and care of the dogs and conducts and supports research on canine health and development.
