One night, I lay awake all night beside our son Michael (Miki) who was sick and finding it hard to sleep. He looked into my eyes and held my hand, just so grateful that I was there for him, full of love and hope. It was then I thought of how hard it must be for children and families with life-threatening and terminal illness, who have little hope, and how hard it must be for them, feeling helpless and powerless for the ones that they love, beyond love for themselves.
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity enables families who have a child with a life-threatening illness to make the most of time together. They provide expert practical and emotional support, where they need it, for as long as it is needed. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with a dedicated expert Family Support Worker to help them face and make the most of each new day. £26 is enough to provide an hour's vital support to a family with a terminally ill child, giving them quality time together.
This page is called "Go Miki" as we are running this, inspired by our son Miki. We also want to combine our passion for art and photography to help them; selling greeting cards and prints on behalf of the Rainbow Trust to further help raise money for these children and families.
