In July 2020 a group of us from college are going to Nepal to volunteer abroad by helping out local communities to rebuild and reconstruct their homes and lives after the disastrous April 2015 earthquake that killed 9,000 people and injured 22,000. Some of the people we will be helping will be the first time they have had any assistance since 2015. Poverty is extreme in Nepal with many people going days without a proper meal. We will be helping to rebuild and reconstruct homes, a local school, and a female empowerment center as inequality is still prominent in Nepal today.
