Graham Simmons is raising money for Hope for Justice

I’m Graham Simmons, Chief of Staff for Hope for Justice and a member of the Executive team.
I am privileged to serve in an organisation that brings hope and freedom to thousands of victims of human trafficking every year (see www.hopeforjustice.org).
I also spend a lot of time in an office and some of that behind a desk so to come out of ‘running retirement’ to take part in this major annual Triathlon event is definitely a challenge – but as we say at Hope for Justice … Freedom is worth the fight!
200 years ago William Wilberforce said “You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know.”
Every week I hear some of the most heart-rending stories of people who have not only been deprived of their liberty but forced to work in appalling conditions for next to nothing with the constant threat of violence if they do not comply.
But, there is another side to this coin – thanks to people like you who support our work I also hear some of the most uplifting stories of people we rescue like the 3 year old child and family we rescued in the UK from a desperate trafficking situation literally last week (July 2018).
It is some time since I ran this distance but I’ve been putting in the training (in some pretty hot weather recently!) to make sure I get round
in one piece.

PS I took the picture last week on a training run - you can see my pacers in the background - bit on the slow side and they keep stopping to eat grass but apart from that they’re a supportive bunch!
