Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving Page! I’m running the Brighton Marathon 2016 for Macmillan Cancer Support on the 17th of April 2016. It would be great if you could donate and share my Page so I can raise as much as possible to help them support people affected by cancer to make sure no one faces cancer alone. My inspiration for supporting Macmillan is my friend Jenn Hill, who in February 2014 was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. If you know Jenn you will know that she is an avid endurance cyclist, having raced and won numerous endurance mountain biking events here and abroad. She even completed the arduous Tour Divide race, from Canada to Mexico down the great divide route. Not ever a smoker, lung cancer shouldn't have happened to Jenn. Just sheer bad luck that it's happened to her. Having now exhausted all possible treatments, including medical trials and the gamma knife, Jenn and her husband Tom are now using their last months without the trials of treatment to spend some quality time with each other and their friends. Jenn's chosen charities at this time are Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support, I've chosen to go with the latter in this case. Please give generously so that those who have been unlucky like Jenn, can be supported in their time of need. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Sadly, Jenn lost her battle with cancer on Friday 16th October. Thoughts go out to her husband and her family. Jenn loved to ride, run, bake cakes and drink whisky. If you can do one or all of those today then go for it and have her in your thoughts. Ride in peace Jenn.
