Greenland Crossing 2013 · 27 February 2013

The QICN is a national charity that works to support vital healthcare for people in their own homes and communities. We work directly with nurses to enhance services through grantmaking, campaigning, training and resources, and through our national network of Queen's Nurses, who lead and inspire.

Story

This is in memory of Philip Goodeve-Docker who tragically died on Sunday 28th April 2013 on his expedition across the Greenland Ice Cap.  Apart from the personal challenge, he was raising funds for the Queens Institute (QNI) and thus in memory of his grandfather.  This expedition was the fulfillment of his dream.

The family are continuing to support the QNI, but now also as a memorial to Philip, which keeps his dream alive.

we will always miss him and forever hold him in our hearts.  Philip was someone who inspired others around him to be better, who made rotten jokes and to enjoy the smaller and simpler things in life.  He died doing something that he loved, for a cause that he loved, and for a person that he admired.
