Story
Brighton & Hove Albion mascots Gully and Sally are
taking part in the BM10k to raise funds for Albion in the Community (AITC).
The pair patrols the touchline during Seagulls games encouraging supporters to get behind the team and they are hoping fans will return the favour by cheering them on during the 10k race, which takes place on April 17.
As well as this online fundraising page the pair will be collecting donations in person outside the American Express Community Stadium before some of the Albion’s forthcoming matches.
It isn’t the first running challenge they have taken part in. Just last year Sally was crowned champion at Brighton Racecourse’s annual mascot race and both Sally and Gully took part in AITC’s Seagulls Santa Dash round the stadium in the run-up to Christmas.
It is, however, the first time the duo have raised funds for
AITC.
In the last 12 months, AITC has engaged with more than 36,000 people across Sussex and was named Best Community Scheme outside the
Premier League at the prestigious Football Business Awards.
It is the largest provider of disability sporting opportunities in the area; works with more than 100 local schools and runs a range of health projects.
Gully and Sally have been busy training for the event. Watch our video to see how they have been getting on.
