Story

The group is made up of a Four men team from diverse cap badges. Currently serving as instructors at 2ITB Gurkha coy. Now they have come together to tackle Ex Three Peaks Challenge with the aim to raise funds and spread awareness of ‘Help for Heroes’.Despite the busiest and toughest time, Cpl Balbahadur Gurung came up with the initiative to lead the Ex- Three Peaks Challenge-Gurkha Fashion. The team of Gurkha Coy 2ITB will be setting off on 1-2 Aug 20,to compete ExThree Peaks Challenge, which is the tough endurance challenge to ascend the highest peaks in Yorkshire Dales. They will not only attempt the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge but do so whilst each carrying 25kg in a traditional Nepalese wicker basket, known as a Doko. The Doko is iconic in Nepal, out of the 18,000 young Nepalese applicants who try to join the British Gurkhas every year, only a handful pass the infamous Doko Race. This involves running up a 5.8km route with a 25kg Doko in 46 minutes. The team from Gurkha coy 2ITB is taking this challenge to another level. They will be attempting to carry these incredibly heavy and uncomfortable baskets up the 3 biggest mountains in the Yorkshire Dales in under 12 hours!

This charity is focused on the tens of thousands of veterans leaving the military each year as a result of being wounded, injured, or sick during operations and war. We believe anyone who has been affected by tragedy during their service deserves a fair opportunity to relive healthy lives with a purpose.

Giving is not only about making a donation, but it is also about making a difference. We are infinitely grateful for every donation that you make.
