Story
This is Rob. He's an emergency nurse and tropical disease graduate. He's also my brother. Rob was in Haiti, one of the world's poorest countries, working with a hospital there when the coronavirus pandemic began. When the borders were being shut and flights were being cancelled he chose to stay instead of returning to the UK so that he could give his best efforts and expertise to those who most need it.

Haiti is not prepared for Covid-19. A country of 11 million people, it has only 64 ventilators, and many of those do not work. Rob's hospital has no ventilators at all. All they can give patients is oxygen, and that is a very expensive resource. Rob and his hospital want to give Covid-19 patients the best shot at survival they can but to do this they need to be able to keep oxygen supplies going.

In this picture Rob is wearing PPE that he made himself for his colleagues. It's not ideal, but it's the best they've got at the moment. The doctors and nurses he works with are terrified of what is coming and need to be protected properly.

Because of this I'm doing what seems like a ridiculously small gesture when compared with such huge challenges - I'm going to #bravetheshave - basically cut my hair off - but this post isn't about that - its about saving lives and protecting my brother and his colleagues.
