Headway East London is a community of people discovering the fullness of life after the shock of brain injury. Working across 13 London boroughs for over 25 years, we offer specialist support and services for over 800 survivors, family, friends, and carers annually.

Story

I've been in and around Headway East London since early 2019 - starting as a volunteer, then working as a community support worker for a short period before joining the day service as music co-ordinator - the role I am currently in. Headway does incredible work to support brain injury survivors and their families across 13 London boroughs through various different services. The day centre in Haggerston, where I work, is a vibrant community space full of art, food, music and laughter which enriches the lives of our members, as well as staff, volunteers and anyone that walks through the door. Fundraising is a huge part of keeping these vital services going and so I'm more than happy to put myself through some pain for it! My friends Lloyd and Dan have kindly agreed to join me so I'm not in this alone and to help us raise as much as possible! - Sam
