Story
HI TEAM! It's me! I’m running the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2015 for Book Trust on the 11th of October 2015.
About a month ago Ben Van Der Velde, a lovely chap if ever there was one, had to pull out of the race due to an Achilles tendon injury. He sent out word that he needed someone to take his place, and I, like the glutton for punishment (and mileage) I've become of late, said I'd do it.
Now, bear in mind, I said yes to this during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, a month so chock full of sleep deprivation, alcohol and sugary snacks that it's a wonder there isn't a higher mortality rate in the comedy industry come September. Put it this way: I'm not in the shape I would have been in July, but I'm working damn hard now to make sure I run a good race & raise lots of money for the lovely Book Trust in Ben's stead.
Book Trust is the largest reading charity in the UK, who inspire a love of reading in children because reading can transform lives. Reading for pleasure has a dramatic impact on educational outcomes and well-being, and as a colossal book nerd myself I am delighted to be able to raise money for such a wonderful cause.
